RLC Students Attend Veterans Day Service
Students from the Remote Learning Center attended the annual Ocean City Veterans Day service held at the Tabernacle on Wednesday, November 11 where they heard remarks from members of the VFW, the American Legion, and city officials gathered to honor those who have served and currently serve in our nation’s Armed Forces.
Ocean City’s VFW Commander, Mike Morrissey, reminded the audience that Veterans Day is a day to honor the sacrifices that the service men and women have made for their country. “Our veterans have brought hope, faith and liberty to the world,” he said. “Freedom we enjoy today is not free.” He also pointed out that theses sacrifices for freedom have often been made by young men and women who enlisted, or were drafted, at the average age of 19, a fact especially significant to the RLC students who are just a few years younger.
