    In 1972, Carl Granieri began his musical career as a premiere scholarship student at the prestigious Philadelphia Musical Academy, studying classical music with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and learning improvisation from legendary jazz musicians in NY and Philadelphia.

    During the 1980's and 90’s, Carl served as Musical Director for 12 years at The Sands & Showboat Casinos, playing, conducting, writing, arranging and producing for the biggest acts in show-business.  His superstar orchestras have also been featured on stage at Harrah’s, Resorts, Hilton, Trop World and The House of Blues in Atlantic City. His orchestras have played US Presidential Inaugurals, Congressional Galas and private VIP parties for the most prestigious personages ranging from Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavorotti to Elton John and Diana Ross to celebrities such as Broadway composers Cy Coleman and famous fashion designers like Bob Mackie. The 21-piece Carl Granieri Orchestra was featured on Lifetime TV’s The Wedding Story.

    In the year 2000, Carl and wife Martie were called by God to begin Hearts AFire, a Christian performance and worship ministry dedicated to bringing the Love of The Sacred Heart of Jesus to all the world via music and modern media. Hearts Afire is committed in a special way to working with the youth and bringing truth, understanding, healing and love to all Christians and all people everywhere.  Douglas Estrada, the orchestra’s Event Manager, spends extra time producing young, local rap groups, offering advice and recording experience free of charge.

    This summer, Carl Granieri and Hearts Afire bring their world-class talents to the Ocean City Tabernacle on Wednesday, July 30th.  Featured artists, such as the phenomenal saxophonist Howard Isaacson and multi platinum singer David Beasley, will perform alongside some of the finest church choirs in Atlantic and Ocean County to bring you the first ever Hearts Afire!: The Concert for Christian Unity.
